Counsellors
Emily Hutton
Hello, I’m Emily.
I understand it can be difficult to know where to turn when we feel lost, and my aim is to provide a warm, accepting and safe space, where you can explore the issues which may be affecting you.
After counselling helped me through a difficult time, I was inspired to start on my own path to becoming a counsellor. My training has led me to Pluralistic counselling, which is based in the Person-Centred approach, and draws on other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The Pluralistic model is collaborative in nature, and tailored to your specific needs and preferences in the way you would like to work.
I am here to listen to whatever you want to bring to the sessions. The space is yours, to share your thoughts and feelings. Together, we can better understand the difficulties you are facing, and work towards uncovering your own inner values and strengths, to move forward in a way that is right for you.
I am a student member of the NCPS and BACP, working in accordance with their high standards of ethical practice. I am studying towards a level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.

This approach really means that I use different theories depending on the client’s needs. It can be daunting to start therapy, but I believe that everyone

Cheyane King N'da
Hi, my name is Cheyane and I’m 28. I’m a level 6 student studying Integrative counselling (my therapeutic approach), working towards my Bcs degree. I believe the challenges and hardships we face as humans are underrated and often not talked about enough. Unfortunately, how we cope and address such challenges is one element that shapes us or how we experience life. Everyone should feel comfortable and confident when leaving their safe place and stepping out into society.
I have a background working as a care assistant and peer support worker (NHS). Working with vulnerable people taught me the importance of community, the power of support systems and strong relationships. Life is far more enjoyable when you share it with someone else and you have someone to support you.
I offer a non-judgmental, empathic, and secure place for you to expression your thoughts and feelings. I know firsthand how it feels when you’re having issues, communicating how you feel, and trying to unpack a situation. I know the feeling of being at the other end of counselling. I know how awkward or uncomfortable it can be to open-up to a stranger intimately. Counselling can be scary/awkward but please don’t be nervous, as I am here to help you through it.
I am a registered student member of the BACP, The British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy. I commit myself to working to a high standard and in line of the BACP ethical framework.

I am committed to ongoing self-reflection and professional development I believe I invite a unique sense of transparency and openness within my sessions. I know often, clients find it difficult to bring certain topics to a counsellor but I always try to assure my clients that the space they share with me is sacred and safe and will never allow room for judgement of any sort.
Julia Somerville
Hello and welcome to Choose Therapy. I would like you to feel that our sessions together are your time, taken at your own pace, and in the belief that you are your own best agent of change. We will work together to build a safe trusting environment for you to explore whatever feelings and issues you wish to bring to our session each week and through our relationship our goal will be to empower you to find your own solutions and create positive change. The sessions are not limited in number, and you decide when you wish to end, when you feel the time is right.
I have previously run my own company, recruiting people for all sorts of different roles, and have also been a single mother of two. I have embarked on my journey to becoming a counsellor with varied life, and sometimes difficult, experiences behind me and with a desire to support and give something back in whatever way I can to others. I am in my last year of training as a counsellor in person centred counselling.
I am registered student member with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and operate to their codes of conduct, ethos and professionalism.
I hope to meet you soon.

I provide a safe, non judgmental and empathetic space for a client to express themselves freely. In July 2024 I will be a fully qualified counsellor with my level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling. I am a humanistic counsellor, which means I focus on building a therapeutic relationship between myself and the client for them to feel like their agenda has been met. I work with these modalities, firstly, person centred, where I work alongside the client allowing them to become the expert to their own journey, secondly, Gestalt where we focus on the present moment or past experiences which are affecting the clients current life position. Lastly, Transactional analysis, we focus on the clients relationship dynamics and how they conduct interactions with others based on their personalities. I want to help clients find better mental clarity by finding their true selves. I have multiple years of experience working with people on a one to basis helping them find solutions to the issues they may be facing and I believe in the use of gentle challenging where it’s needed.
Lydia Bear

Emily Lambert
In therapy, it’s safe to be yourself. The truth about how we feel isn’t always pretty, but it’s always ok. You never have to worry about what it is or how it sounds – I will listen without judgement. Whether you need a place to break down, a way to get back on track or an idea about where you’re going, we can work it out.
I have a professional background supporting boys in foster care and young men in crisis. This experience has helped me understand that men are often badly supported through trauma and turmoil – sometimes it seems like there is nobody to listen. It has also given me a determination to help young men gain equal access to emotional support.
Traumatic events can be devastating, but I believe that simpler problems can be just as painful – workplace anxiety, online dating rejections, the pressure of supporting a loved one – sometimes it’s the everyday hurts that cause the most damage.
I utilise person-centred theory, which means I believe in your ability to become the best version of yourself, and I want to help you get there. I also draw from existential approaches, which empower us to shine a light to the darker corners of our minds. I believe our thoughts and feelings do not define who we are, but they can teach us what we need to grow.
I am a registered student counsellor with the BACP and am working towards a diploma in humanistic counselling practice.
Jacqueline Powell
Hi my name is Jacquie. I imagine as you are here looking for an ideal therapist, you may be finding it tricky and potentially a bit scary. If you are feeling that all is not well for you and are low in your mood or feeling anxiety then I am here to support you. I am committed to working with my clients to keep them safe and contained in what can be challenging and uncertain times that they, and ultimately you, may be facing.
My approach is to listen non-judgementally, gently encourage expression of yourself, supportively question and be beside you to manage your emotions to where you are in a better place.
My interests are in guiding young people to thrive where I mentor at schools, charities and universities providing support to prepare them for their future roles and life. I also offer therapy to young people in a lower socio-economic London borough.
I am in my final year of study on an integrative counselling diploma. Integrative simply means that I will be led by you as an individual and will provide a different approach depending on your circumstance past or present. I am also a student member of the BACP which means I work to a code of ethics with your wellbeing interests at heart.
Irem Gunay
Irem takes an integrative approach to therapy, honoring the interconnectedness of mind, body and emotions. She believes that true healing comes from aligning these dimensions in harmony. In her sessions, she encourages clients to explore how their body holds experiences, how their mind shapes perceptions, and how the narratives they carry impact their emotional and physical well-being. Her therapeutic approach is deeply shaped by her own journey of transformation, which showed her that true growth often arises when life breaks us open, asking us to meet ourselves in raw and unfiltered ways.
Drawing on principles from existentialism, humanistic psychology, and mindfulness-based practices, Irem tailors her approach to honor each client’s unique journey and needs. Her flexibility allows her to create a client-centered experience, guiding therapy in a way that resonates with each individual. She is committed to meeting clients where they are, respecting their personal path.
Irem envisions therapy as a refuge—a safe space where clients can confront, understand, and navigate emotions that may have remained unexplored. She is dedicated to creating a compassionate environment where clients feel empowered to step into their own wisdom and healing with courage. Her goal is to support clients in cultivating a deeper connection with themselves, others, and life itself.
Currently working toward an MA in Psychotherapy, Irem is a registered student member of the BACP.

Currently completing my Level 4 CPCAB counselling course, I offer an integrative approach that prioritizes empathy, active listening, and support for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. Scott Major
Hello, I’m Scott.
I am based in London and I am currently working towards a diploma in therapeutic counselling. As a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I abide by their ethical framework to ensure you receive safe and professional care.
I work using an integrative approach, meaning I combine elements from different theories of counselling. I combine elements of person-centred counselling, which focuses on creating a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, with aspects of psychodynamic counselling, which looks at how past experiences may influence the way you feel and act today. Together we can explore both the present and, if needed, the past, to help you gain insight and find a way forward.
Before training to become a counsellor I spent several years living and working in East Asia, where I encountered a variety of cultures and perspectives. These experiences deepened my ability to empathise with people who are very different from me, and reinforced the importance of understanding each person’s unique background and story. This cultural awareness informs my counselling work, helping me to create a space where you feel heard and understood, no matter your life experiences.
I have particular interest in working with men’s mental health and issues surrounding sexuality, and I aim to create a supportive environment where we can explore these topics in a safe, open and respectful way.
Kate Morgenstern
Hello, I’m Kate.
Following a career in finance and technology, I chose to retrain in psychotherapy to support others in managing life’s pressures and finding clarity amidst the noise. My own experiences in high-stress environments have given me a deep understanding of the challenges many face, and I’m dedicated to helping clients navigate their unique journeys with insight and resilience.
I offer a non-judgmental, empathetic space where we can work together to explore personal challenges, recurring patterns, and relationship dynamics. In my therapy room, you’ll find a compassionate environment where you’re free to speak openly and be truly heard. I take an integrative approach to psychotherapy, drawing on techniques from various therapeutic traditions and using them flexibly to align with your individual goals and needs.
My aim is to create a space where you feel empowered to deepen self-understanding, identify and overcome roadblocks, and navigate life’s transitions with greater ease and confidence.
Together, we’ll work toward meaningful growth, clarity, and self-acceptance.
Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Psychotherapy at Regent’s University and am a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My experience includes working with bereavement, depression, and relationship challenges, and I am committed to providing compassionate, informed support in each area.

I am a counsellor in my final year of training and a student member of the BACP. I aim to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for clients as I know from my own experience how vulnerable and intimidating counselling can feel at first. I believe in the importance and the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and so my approach will focus on building a working relationship with you that feels supportive and encouraging. For those interested, this mainly includes Person-centred, Humanistic-Existential and Psychodynamic perspectives. For others, I aim to offer a timeless exploration into past, within the present and towards a future, focusing and reflecting on the here and now using multiple creative means.
Whether you’re navigating past trauma, or generally feeling stuck, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we can work towards meaningful change and greater self-understanding.
Sarah Jane Wicks
Hi, I’m Sarah Jane. I’d like to offer a warm, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. As an integrative practitioner, I understand that everyone’s journey is unique. So by drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches, and tailoring them to meet your specific needs, we can work together toward personal growth and emotional wellbeing.
I believe in the power of a collaborative healing process. By combining person-centred practices—where you guide the process—with psychodynamic techniques, we can explore deeper issues rooted in past experiences. This approach helps you address current struggles while building self-awareness, examining long-term behavioural patterns which may or may not be relevant in your life now, this often leads to long-term positive change.
My background includes counselling in prisons and hospitals in South Africa, as well as running my own practice.
I hold a BA in Applied Social Sciences (Counselling and Psychology) from SACAP and a BSc Honours in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies from the University of Derby (UK). I am also a certified NLP practitioner and have undergone extensive trauma training with the DBT Institute in South Africa.
Now the UK, I work as a divorce coach, helping individuals navigate the emotional complexities of break-up, separation and divorce. I’m also passionate about grief, adverse childhood experiences (ACE), and postnatal depression counselling.
As I continue my studies at CPPD in London to become a Registered (BACP) Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I am dedicated to supporting you through your journey with care, understanding, and expertise.
Kasia Sikora-Smith
Hello, my name is Kasia, and I am a level 4 counselling student and a qualified life coach. I currently work with clients in an NHS setting, using a therapeutic approach to support their wellbeing. I draw on my experiences of helping people who struggle with their mental health. I have been dedicated to helping clients who experience low self-esteem, anxiety, low mood, and depression—areas that particularly interest me.
As a person-centred therapist practicing an integrative approach, I believe that everyone has the capacity for dramatic and positive growth. As David Hume once said: “It’s when we start working together that the real healing takes place.” I incorporate elements of Polyvagal Theory into my work, helping clients understand how their nervous system influences their emotions and behaviours. This understanding can be a powerful tool in their healing process.
My approach is gentle and supportive, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. I have witnessed firsthand how transformative counselling can be, both in my clients’ lives and through my own personal experiences.
Fluent in both English and Polish, I offer counselling in both languages. As a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am committed to upholding high professional standards in my practice.
Jo Alderson
Hello, my name is Jo.
You may have been thinking about counselling for a long time or it may be a new idea to you, whichever, it can feel like a courageous step to take. I will welcome you and build a trusting relationship with you as you take the time you need for yourself. I can listen to you and support you with a range of issues which may be making life feel challenging. I came to counselling training following my own experience of counselling and how personally transformative it can be.
I’m a final year counselling trainee, studying for a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I work using an integrative model. I begin from a basis of person-centred counselling; I do not direct you, instead I am beside you offering a safe and empathic space whilst you explore your issues or concerns. I am with you as you find solutions which are meaningful to you. As we work together I will use a blend of different approaches to best meet your individual needs.
I have a background of almost 30 years working in the NHS in maternity care and clinical education. This gives me a strong foundation of being client-centred, supporting individuals holistically as they move through major life changes and the emotional complexities that these bring.
I am a registered student member of the BACP and adhere to their code of conduct and ethical framework to support my counselling practice.
If I sound like the right person for you, I welcome you to get in touch. I look forward to working with you on your journey towards personal understanding and healing.
Jessie Fuller
Hello, my name is Jessie and I am a registered student member of BACP while I complete my training as a counseling psychotherapist with The Psychosynthesis Trust. My theoretical approach is person-centered, relational and transpersonal.
As your therapist, my goal is to develop a trusting and supportive relationship with you. We will explore your presenting issue(s) and over time, deepen your understanding of yourself and your capacity to heal and grow through your experience; this process will look different for everyone and will take as much time as you need.
Sessions are client-led and while this is a practice of talking therapy we can work creatively when it’s appropriate and use exercises and techniques to engage your imagination and connect to your body, mind and feelings.
A little about me – I am a English/Chinese/Irish woman and I grew up internationally, mainly in South Asia. I have a Bsc in Psychology and Sociology, MA in Psychoanalytic Studies and I work full time as a Neurodevelopmental and Auditory Practitioner with children and families. I’ve worked with the neurodiverse population for over 10 years.
I also teach yoga and lead women’s circles and yoga retreats. Yoga is a practice that regularly supports me to feel grounded and connected to myself which I appreciate can be a great challenge in the overstimulating and busy world that we live in.
My areas of interest include (but are not limited to) addiction, codependency, sexual abuse, neurodivergence, attachment issues, the third culture experience and nervous system dysregulation.
Lucy Francis
Choosing a therapist can be challenging. Reading through numerous bios and trying to find the right fit can be overwhelming. I get it; I’ve been there too.
Whether this is your first time seeking counselling or you have seen multiple therapists over the years, this part of the process can still feel daunting. Questions like, “Will they understand me?”, “Will I feel safe enough to share?” and “Are they going to judge me?” might be swirling in your mind.
The foundation of facilitating self understanding, growth and change is the relationship between you and your therapist and, like any other relationship in life, building trust may come easily and quickly, or it may feel hard and take time – both experiences are valid.
I truly believe that being listened to without any conditions being placed on them, is one of the most powerful gifts we can bestow on another person. Each of us holds within us the capability to navigate difficult times or feelings of being stuck. Being listened to without judgement helps us to access our inner wisdom and growth, empowering us to effect change.
My hope is to offer you a safe, non-judgemental space in which our therapeutic relationship can flourish, where you will feel able to explore and gain a greater understanding of yourself. Whether that happens quickly, or whether you need time to allow the trust to build, I would like to walk alongside you on your journey of self discovery.
I am in my final year of the Level 4 Diploma and work in a predominantly Person Centred way, although I am trained integratively and will pull on other modalities in our work together. You will lead the way on what you want to share or explore, while I offer my full attention and a steady, grounded presence to accompany you on your journey. I am also a member of the BACP and follow their ethical guidelines.
Emily Godwin
Hello, I’m Emily. Welcome.
I am a Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist in my final year of training working towards a Professional Doctorate (DCPsych). I have been working in the field of mental health for over 8 years and have experience of working with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties within the NHS; universities; and community health settings.
I work from a relational perspective as an integrative practitioner, which means I am trained in a number of different modalities including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Humanistic approaches. The type of therapy offered will be tailored to your individual needs and unique circumstances. Throughout our work together I will be holding in mind your context (family; relationships; community) as well as wider social determinants of distress.
Central to my way of working is the relationship between client and therapist. Ways this may show up in our work together might include exploring difficult thoughts or feelings in the present and considering how these may connect to past experiences and relationships. Above all, I offer a space for you to talk and be heard so that your individual difficulties can be explored and further understood.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Bethany Moxon
Hi, I’m Bethany!
I have completed a Bachelor of Science in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby, achieving a first-class grade. I am currently attending an Enhanced CPD following on from this course to become a fully qualified counsellor.
I practice from the humanistic perspective, following person-centred values to create an open and empathetic environment. My goal is to ensure whoever I see is comfortable and at ease to talk about whatever they feel they need to and have the space to grow. As well as this, my sessions will be client-led, ensuring each individual is tailored towards and we can work together to achieve what you feel your goal is.
My experience includes volunteering my free time at a local school to provide a weekly club for children that allows them to engage in low-pressure activities and discuss their feelings. Through this, I am able to explore my creative side, as well as guide children through their troubles. Alongside this, I work in retail so I have met and gotten to know so many people! It’s wonderful to interact with and support so many individuals on a daily basis.
I also have a core interest in neurodivergence; I have completed multiple courses to learn about autism and ADHD, and wrote my dissertation on late diagnosed autism in women. I feel strongly connected to this topic having personal struggles with ADHD, and I wish to support others the best I can if they struggle the same! In addition, I have experience with issues such as anxiety, stress, and depression.

I am passionate about supporting clients through life challenges, personal development, and emotional healing. My focus is on building a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and valued. I work with clients experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem.
As a student member of the BACP, I am committed to continuous learning and professional development, actively engaging in supervision and training to enhance therapeutic skills. With a deep interest in empathy-driven counselling, I aim to help clients explore their feelings, identify patterns, and develop coping strategies.
Annette Cohen
My passion for therapy lies in facilitating self-empowerment and invite you to explore your own path to well-being. While my 20+ years as a yoga therapist provided a foundation in holism, my current focus is on the unique journey of each client.
As a student member of the BACP and NCPS, ethical practice and ongoing learning are my cornerstones. You’ll find a naturally empathetic therapist in me, one who prioritises unconditional positive regard – creating a space for you to explore your experiences openly and safely.
My role is to walk alongside you, not dictate the path. As a level 5 student in Pluralism I utilise a collaborative approach, drawing on, mindfulness, and communication skills development to equip you with the tools you need for self-discovery and building healthy coping mechanisms.
Ultimately, the direction of our sessions is yours. Let’s explore what works best for you, unlocking your potential for a life filled with greater self-understanding and fulfilment.
Elise Hollins
Elise is a registered student counsellor with the NCPS, with a background in teaching and education. She is able to offer integrative sessions, meaning she is able to tailor counselling tools and approaches to best suit the needs of individual clients. She does this by offering a warm, empathic space for clients to explore their problems and feelings openly, using her knowledge of person-centred and cognitive behavioural theory to work with clients to find inner peace, growth, and a strengthened sense of self.
Elise’s experience working in schools has given her a deep understanding of a variety of pressures including personal and professional stressors that can lead to anxiety and depressive moods. Elise seeks to support her clients in seeking solutions to their problems and cultivate positive experiences through the development of healthy coping strategies and adaptation of unhelpful or damaging patterns of behaviour.
Iain Mackenzie
If you are struggling with anxiety or are low in mood and need a listening ear and support to work through this, I can help you as we work collaboratively to understand and manage those difficult and painful emotions. I know how hard it can be to reach out and as I have experience of being a client in counselling/psychotherapy know how scary this can seem. I want to reassure you that its ok to be scared as this may be all new for you.
I am currently in my 3rd year of a humanistic and integrative counselling and psychotherapy degree. I have worked with clients who have suffered from addiction for over six years and who also have mental health difficulties. I am also currently working with young people in an educational setting offering counselling support.
I believe that we are all meaning makers and in search of purpose and sometimes we can feel lost and have no direction in life. We can work together to find a direction that leads to a more fulfilling and meaningful path in the hope of being able to manage and make sense of those emotions that can be hard to be in.

Lollita Masuku
Everyone experiences some difficulties through life and usually their support network can help them grow beyond them. Every so often, there are times when people need a little more. That might be a little more space, a bit more of non-judgemental perspective or a different perspective altogether, to help them create the tools they need to get through that phase.
I have been this person and know how hard it can be to need help and ask for it.
Hi. My name is Lollita and I am a Trainee Psychotherapist. My practice is person- centred and relational; a fancy way of saying I enjoy growing individual relationships with people in order to support them to create a space for what they need. I am an integrative practitioner which means I use different approaches depending on your situation. I’d love to get to know you and explore how we might be able to work together as you discover what counselling can offer you.

Anna Kostova-Deleva
Hi, my name is Anna.
I am a graduate psychologist and I currently study Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am flexible and sessions can be goal-oriented or focus on the ‘here and now’-problem. I also value the relationship between childhood and adulthood, and if you prefer, we can concentrate on events from the past. Working together, we can find the strategies, that best work for you and explore difficult thoughts and feelings. Your personality and individual situation will be accepted in the room as you will be free to explore your real self in a safe environment.
My previous working experience is in mainstream Secondary Schools and SEN Schools, where I learned to be patient and supportive of the differences around us. I have also worked in hospitality, which allowed me to meet many different people, with their cultural habitats and beliefs.
Like everyone, I have my life experience and I know how important is to have someone, with who you feel safe to talk and share difficulties. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is essential because sometimes, all we need is to speak and be heard. I am here to listen and work together towards your goals.
I offer sessions in Bulgarian, too.
Chris Ricot
Hello, my name is Chris. I am in my forties and left a corporate job in the City to retrain as a psychotherapist. I understand the stresses and strains of today’s busy lifestyles. Constantly feeling under pressure can result in loneliness and feeling disconnected from yourself and others. Having experienced the benefits of therapy myself, I wanted to become a fully qualified therapist.
My therapy room is a friendly, safe and non-judgmental space. I want to hear your story, at your own pace. Everyone is warmly welcomed.
My approach is an ‘integrative’ one, meaning that I draw on different psychotherapeutic approaches and tools to best support you and your needs. No matter where you are right now, I want to help you live your life to the fullest.
I am studying for a Master’s in Psychotherapy at Regent’s University. As a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical practice. I have also spent the past year working with an LGBT+ charity to support people struggling with issues around their sexuality and identity.
Taking the first step can be hard to do. You’ve just taken it. I am here to support you in the choices you make. I look forward to working together.
Hannah de Kerckhove
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, as I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and client and this is where your healing journey begins. This is why it is crucial that you find a counsellor that understands you and meets your needs in therapy.
My name is Hannah, I am a student person centered therapist at Choose Therapy. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space to support you in exploring and understanding yourself and your experiences, together we can navigate life’s challenges as I sit with you in uncovering your own inner strength and healing. I work in accordance with the BACP ethical framework as a BACP member.
I have experience working with depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, trauma, addiction, relationships and neurodivergence. Whilst I am a student, I have a wide range of experience from beginning my journey as a counsellor 8 years ago, completing my level 2, going on to complete a degree in psychology and counselling and currently studying my level 4 diploma, whilst working in settings such as mental health hospital, addiction support service and within GP surgeries. Alongside this I have explored other modalities, in the hope that whilst remaining person centered at the core of the work that I do, I can provide interventions to tailor to your unique needs as I understand that everybody is different. My goal in working with Choose therapy is to meet a diverse range of clients and promote accessibility in counselling.
I look forward to working with you to achieve your desired outcomes of therapy.
Helen Harrison
Hi, I’m Helen,
I know that choosing a therapist and beginning the process of exploring your feelings can be daunting, but I’d like to reassure you that I will be with you every step of the way.
Whether it’s a short term targeted intervention or longer term work looking at creating lasting and sustainable change, I will greet you with warmth and empathy and feel it is an honour to be on this journey with you.
I understand how important the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is. I found that it was in therapy that I first felt truly heard, understood and accepted for who I am, and this is what I strive to emulate for my clients.
I’m currently in my final year of studying for an Integrative Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and tend to work in a largely person-centred way. This means that the theme of our counselling sessions are led by you but with plenty of guidance and support from me. From a combination of lived experience and acquired knowledge I can also use a combination of other counselling techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis, if they will be of benefit to you.
I am a student member of the BACP accrediting body which means I abide by their codes and ethics, with your wellbeing at the heart of what we do.
Prior to embarking on my counselling diploma I have worked for a crisis text service and provided support to clients in a hospital setting and within the prison service.

Karimah Wade
I work with clients to live their best authentic life free of feelings of uncertainty or indifference. As a black woman, I recognise the unique experiences specific to culture, race and background that can impact mental health, finances and social situations. These experiences can weigh heavy and therefore I understand how these community issues, unique to minorities can burden daily life. My own experiences have given me an awareness and understanding of struggles and injustice, and how to navigate negative experiences into healthier, positive outcomes.
Provision of a non-judgemental environment will allow you to express your most uncomfortable thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. using the person-centred approach with elements of Freud’s psychodynamic theory and CBT, our journey will involve learning who you are and uncovering your needs, so that you can be better understood by all. Together we can explore ideas, feelings, moments, or whatever you wish. whilst I facilitate your story by connecting the dots using a variety of techniques and skills.
I’m committed to supporting your growth in all areas; new life choices, navigating daily life, social media pressures, relationships, self-esteem issues, career goals, conflict, to name a few. With practice and patience, we can unlock new patterns, tools and understandings to have you feeling proud of the person looking back in the mirror and feeling confident in your choices and decisions.
I am a BACP student counsellor working towards completion of a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. With this qualification I aim to raise awareness to the importance of nurturing our mental health.
Katie Leason
Hi, I’m Katie – thank you for taking the time to read more about me.
I know how daunting it is trying to find a counsellor who feels like a good match, and there is only so much you can tell from a small headshot with a few words. Nevertheless, I hope this picture and the words I’m writing give you a flavour of who I am, and what I might be like to talk to.
I’m currently finishing my counselling qualification at the University of Westminster in London. My course is integrative in nature, which is a fancy way of saying that it includes lots of different counselling theories rather than just focussing on one.
This means that not only am I kept firmly on my toes by learning different styles of therapy, but that I’m equipped to select the very best bits of each theory to help my clients. So, if something doesn’t seem to be helping in our sessions, I’m able to adapt my approach. Having more options to choose from means I can be highly flexible and tailor therapy just for you.
Away from counselling, I am a writer by background, and I have worked for various charities. Mental health has always been my passion, and I am dedicated to fighting stigma and encouraging people to ask for help when they need it.
Seeking support takes courage, and we need to know that we will be listened to calmly and without any judgement. I can be that person for you, so if I sound like a good fit, then please get in touch.
Lauren Graham
I am a 42-year-old trainee counsellor, currently residing in London after originally being from Bradford. With 20 years of professional experience in the performing arts industry, I now bring a unique blend of authenticity, creativity, and empathy to my counselling practice. My background allows me to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings.
As a person-centred counsellor, my approach is entirely client-led, meaning that your needs, perspectives, and goals are at the heart of our work together. This method empowers you to explore your self-perception, giving you the time, space, and guidance needed to discover your own resolutions and achieve personal empowerment.
I am also a registered student counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Rabbeka Jagot
I am open-minded, creative and provide an empathic space for clients to explore and process life experiences. I am a student member of the BACP and training to primarily be a Person-centred Therapist, which is a non- directive and client-led approach, but I integrate aspects from different modalities to tailor sessions, as per clients’ individual needs.
I aim for clients to feel heard, valued and understood. I support others in becoming their authentic selves and embracing their uniqueness. I want to help clients understand themselves, the world around them and their place in it, to aid in healing and promote autonomy. I do this by using the principles of Person-centred Therapy, along with a Psychodynamic approach to explore why and how certain thoughts, behaviours and emotions occur and where they may stem from. I also incorporate aspects of Compassion Focused Therapy, which works on changing the narrative with individuals’ inner self-critic and shame, to foster a more positive and compassionate relationship with the self.
I also seek to help clients recognise coping strategies that may not be conducive. I encourage clients to develop healthy management of internal and/or external conflict and finding healthy outlets and forms of expression, to improve emotion regulation.
I have firsthand experiences of childhood adversities, anxiety and
depression, the challenges of a chronic pain condition and understand addiction. I have personal life experience with conflict resolution, particularly with couples experiencing a breakdown in communication.
I am a British Asian Woman and have experiential understanding of the culture and how it can play a role in the development of conditions of worth.
Xinmiao Zhong
Hello, my name is Xinmiao (pronounced Shin-mee-ow), and I am currently training in Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative). My main approach is person-centred, which emphasises empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. As an integrative counsellor, I also draw from other approaches. I believe the relationship between the counsellor and client is key for counselling to be effective, and I am committed to build an effective therapeutic relationship with you. In my sessions, I am dedicated to providing a safe and non-judgmental space to discuss anything you would like to talk about, explore your feelings, increase your self-awareness and personal growth, and empower you to develop coping skills.
I have previously worked with bereaved clients, in which I witnessed improved mental health and personal growth. I have a Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Psychology and a PhD in Social Psychology, and have many years of experience working on relationship and cross-cultural research in academia and a psychotherapy organisation in the UK.
I am a registered student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their ethical framework. I look forward to supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
Rachael Quirke
Hello, I’m Rachael, a registered student counsellor with the BACP, currently working towards my MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling.
Besides my ongoing studies, my educational background includes a BA in Psychology, an MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour, and certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles within the mental health field.
My experience includes serving as a victim advocate, rape crisis hotline counsellor, body-positive nutritionist, and support group facilitator for organisations across the U.S., U.K., and Ireland. These diverse experiences have profoundly shaped my therapeutic approach.
I would characterise myself as an integrative practitioner who primarily pulls from the existential- phenomenological perspective. This means that I do not enter the therapy room with preconceived goals or prescriptive techniques aimed at solving “problems.” Instead, I focus on creating an explorative and collaborative dialogue. From there, we can bring everything out into the open, and through this process, find your way forward together. Thus, my approach often feels more like a profound and meaningful conversation rather than a traditional therapeutic session. Alternatively, if you need or prefer a different style I can pull from other modalities such as person-centred and psychodynamic therapy.
My areas of interest include (but are not limited to): self-esteem, body image, illness, disability, ADHD, AIDS/HIV, abortion, infertility, women’s issues, cultural issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, life transitions, anxiety, bullying, and stress.
If any of this resonates with you, please do get in touch. I’d love to connect and see how I can support you on your therapeutic journey.

Michael Baxter
Hello, my name is Michael.
I know that the first step towards seeking help and support takes courage. It is important that you find the right fit with your chosen therapist. The most effective part of therapy is born from a trusting, respectful and non-judgmental client \ counsellor relationship.
I am at the end of my training to be a qualified integrative counsellor. ” Integrative” means that I have been trained in four modalities that are combined into a single cohesive approach. I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), and I adhere to their exhaustive ethical framework. I will accompany you as we explore any issues you wish to examine in a confidential, safe, and non- judgmental space.
I am trained in Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred and iRest (integrative restoration). I have a degree in Philosophy and have spent many years travelling and living in varied cultures. I spent 18 years building a contracting company, which organically led me into the world of business coaching. Helping CEOs explore and understand their reasoning was the final piece of the jigsaw I needed to finally believe that I could pursue my heartfelt desire to train as a counsellor/psychotherapist. Over the past 6 months, my client work has been the most fulfilling and profound work I have ever experienced. I wish you luck with your next steps.

Carlotta Lazzaro
Hi, I am Carlotta, a counselling psychologist in training dedicated to helping individuals achieve mental well-being and personal growth.
My approach centres on empathy and a strong commitment to providing a confidential, non-judgmental, and supportive therapeutic space. Together, we can address the challenges that brought you to seek therapy, aiming to gain insights and awareness that can create meaningful, lasting change.
With a background in complementary therapies, I have always loved learning about our mind, feelings, and behaviour, and this led me to pursue a doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy.
My therapeutic style integrates various counselling and psychotherapy techniques, allowing me to tailor each session to your specific needs, with a focus on psychodynamic and existential theories.
I am particularly interested in how past experiences, especially childhood ones, shape emotional and cognitive patterns, and behaviours. Using psychodynamic theory, we can delve into these patterns to uncover their underlying causes and understand the reasons behind them.
Furthermore, I use an existential framework to help clients in making decisions that are in line with their core values and uncovering their true selves. This approach is particularly useful for individuals who are reflecting on their lives while searching for purpose in life.
I am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA). I offer therapy sessions in both English and Italian.
Alice Glayzer
Hello, my name is Alice and I am an integrative trainee counsellor. Welcome to our space. I aim for it to be a warm and safe space where you can share and explore what is on your mind. That includes all difficult thoughts and feelings, yes. Whenever you are ready we can sit together and gently see what’s going with you, lay it out and go from there at whatever speed suits you. I like to work humanistically so we can be ourselves and meet you as a whole human but I also like to incorporate a psychodynamic approach to help with understanding the past and the mind, where the feelings may come from and patterns we can identify. If needed, I can include some CBT too. This is what Integrative is. I can customise different ways of counselling depending on your needs. A customised therapy in a sense. My background is in hospitality and have been working towards supporting the industry to create a healthier, more balanced lifestyle and aspire to help others find strength and calm.
I hope to meet you and I vow to do my best for you under the BACP framework. I also hope you find the right person for you as you start your journey to finding your authentic self, whether it is with me or someone else. Know that you are already taking valuable steps just being on this site.

Eunice Noronha
Hi my name is Eunice, I am a committed trainee counsellor, dedicated to supporting you towards enhancing your quality of life. I do this through an integrative therapeutic approach. My background in support work has provided me with a solid foundation in understanding and addressing the diverse needs of individuals, particularly 3+ years with those navigating challenging life circumstances. Currently, I am working towards completing a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling skills, which has enriched my knowledge and skills in both person-centred and psychodynamic therapies. My commitment to continuous learning and professional development ensures that I remain updated with the latest advancements in the field of counselling.
My way of working blends the depth and insight of psychodynamic therapy with the empathetic and non-directive nature of person-centred therapy: the session is your time to be seen and heard within a non-judgemental environment. My approach allows me to tailor my support to each client’s unique needs. By creating a safe, compassionate and accepting environment, I encourage clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, fostering self-awareness and personal growth. The psychodynamic approach helps clients uncover underlying patterns and unconscious processes that influence their behaviour, providing deeper insights into their emotional lives. I have learned the importance of looking into our childhood to understand how it may have influenced the lense with which we see the world and how that lense may shape our current experiences.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical practice. I am passionate about empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve a greater sense of well-being. I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I support.
Kim Najran
Hi there! My name is Kim, and I am a registered student counsellor with BACP training towards becoming a full accredited UKCP psychotherapist.
I have been working with clients who have been experiencing low mood, anxiety, relationship issues, sexual traumas and bereavement for the last year using an integrative relational model. What this means is that the work we do is co-created between both client and therapist. I do a lot of work with clients on the here and now, processing what might be happening for them in the present moment during sessions. Behaviours, emotions and relationship patterns that might be present in the therapy room may be a fixed pattern that the client has been accustomed to and I work with them to observe and help piece together their patterns of behaviour. There is a focus on using Gestalt techniques to do this.
However, I also lean on many psychoanalytic techniques which help us to dive a little deeper into the unconscious processes that may be occurring for the client. This may mean we look at the childhood and history of the client in sessions.
I also use CBT techniques occasionally if the client presents with specific issues and wants a specific outcome.
Generally, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to allow clients to explore their own patterns and processes. As a fully qualified mental health first aid instructor and neurodiversity trainer I am also knowledgeable on crisis management and specific requirements or adjustments that the client may need.
Kat Januchowska
Kat is a compassionate therapist with a strong theoretical grounding in the humanistic approach.
This means that the therapy sessions offered by Kat are based on the relational approach, offering a space to explore all aspects of self and to expand self-awareness. This might allow you to be fully present with yourself, connect to body sensations, voice your feelings and thoughts and further your self-acceptance. Kat’s sessions enable you to go deeper at your own pace by creating a safe therapeutic relationship. Greater self-awareness provides you with an ability to pause and to reflect on your behavioural patterns. Change comes from acceptance of your current stance. Once you accepted who you are in the present moment, you have an option to choose your next steps.
Kat is enrolled on BSc Humanistic Counselling at Metanoia Institute, completing her final year of qualification and is registered trainee counsellor with the BACP.

Claire England
Hi, my name is Claire, and I’m a passionate humanist.
Life is complicated, and part of being human is contending with an array of emotions, challenges and relationships, which often become unbalanced. It can be difficult to navigate these ‘bumps in the road’ and we may feel overwhelmed and stuck. For many of us, we are struggling with past traumas or present conflicts, and often both, so finding a way forward can seem incomprehensible. I understand how despair feels, and I also know that the possibility of change is within us all. I am committed to providing a safe space where clients can find the freedom to explore their thoughts, feelings and interactions within a trusting, honest and inclusive therapeutic alliance.
Having experienced the transformative power of talking therapy myself, I was drawn to follow a path towards becoming a fully qualified integrative therapist. Currently, I am a trainee counsellor coming to the end of my first year of the Level 4 Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy at Varndean College in Brighton. While my training focuses on person-centred therapy, I have covered a range of modalities and believe in tailoring the approach to the individual client’s needs as these change throughout their therapeutic journey. I have also completed Martlet’s Hospice Grief Training for student counsellors and will be starting as a volunteer counsellor with them in September 2024.
I have experienced my own trauma, learnt the power of self-healing through therapy, and have gone through many changes over the last 50 years. I believe my life experiences, naturally empathic spirit, strategic, creative, and analytical brain, as well as my awareness of self and counselling training so far, have equipped me with the right attributes to facilitate your journey to better mental health.
I am a registered BACP student member and I hold a BA Hons Degree in Social Policy and Administration from Nottingham University. I also work for a philanthropic foundation supporting education in low middle-income communities in Africa.
Rita Charalambides
Hello, my name is Rita and I am in my third year of training as a psychospiritual therapist at the Institute of Psychosynthesis.
Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach which considers the whole person, it does not view the person as a symptom that needs to be cured or fixed. In Psychosynthesis we explore all aspects of the personality, all the parts and energies of the individual. We look at everything and anything that has made you who you are. From there we notice patterns that have informed growth. By bringing these into awareness we can bring the individual into a harmonious self-realised whole. Psychosynthesis has also been called a psychology of hope. A hope that each and everyone of us has the potential to lead our fullest life and a life of purpose meaning and value regardless of our history.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental space to help you navigate the issues that have arisen in your life and support you in the choices you make to lead a more fulfilling life. I have experience of working with a wide range of concerns, including: anxiety, depression, family issues, life goals and personal development, bereavement and loss, work related stress and self esteem.
I have trainee membership with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am a member of the Association of Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP). I abide by their code of ethics. High standards are further ensured by regular supervision.

Ina Nesterenko
I am a lifelong devoted learner about the intricacies of the human mind and heart, currently studying Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and embracing Integrative approach. Having tested different philosophies and psychotherapy modalities, I landed with Transactional Analysis (TA). It has given me an opportunity to work in an integrative style utilising a wide range of different tools. TA’s versatility and effectiveness are in embracing and enhancing other modalities such as positive psychology, gestalt, CBT, psychoanalysis and many more with the main focus on the individual uniqueness and intrapsychic resources available within each and every human being.
TA could become part of every person’s life due its colloquial language and application ease of frameworks and tools. It will help you raise awareness of what contributes to your life results and style while gaining autonomy in your decisions against automatic outcomes or ‘by chance disasters’. You will learn how different mental states serve or trip you up in daily life or critical moments and how you can set yourself free from unwanted life scripts, unnecessary pain, shame and other archaic limitations.
Working with me, you will experience a secure, judgment-free environment, guided by an empathetic and engaged listener with an analytical mind, committed to empowering gentle self-exploration and change. I prioritise establishing a mutual working alliance built on trust and unconditional positive regard, progressing at a pace that the client finds safe. I aim to make you feel comfortable and supported for therapeutic changes which could be uncomfortable at times as we will be reality testing and analysing the meaning and purpose of certain beliefs and frames of reference in the pursuit of wellbeing and healthy self-actualisation.
Fuelled by my fascination with the subconscious mind and its profound impact on our lives, I have pursued qualifications in Hypnotherapy and EMDR. These additions to my skillset complement my existing toolkit of interventions, aiming to further enhance the effectiveness of the work we complete together.
I am a scientist at heart enjoying a good challenge and I am excited about putting my knowledge and skills to use in order to help others. I commit to supporting every step of your therapeutic transformation with kindness and sometimes humour where appropriate.

Lilly Ladjevardi
Every journey toward healing requires a special space, where we feel safe enough to explore our hurt, fears or whatever it is that is causing us distress.
In my personal journey, I’ve discovered that the most nurturing environments are those deeply connected to the wisdom of the heart. As a therapist I aim to create a heart-felt, non-judgemental space where together we can explore whatever it is that you need support with. I approach my work with a systemic perspective because so much of who we are is interconnected with the larger systems we are part of. I firmly believe that understanding our individual experience within collective histories and structures is essential when working with some of the pains and fears embedded in our identities.
Our collaborative exploration can take various forms, guided by what feels right for you, as sometimes words alone are not enough. As well as talking about your experience, we can work with body sensations, explore your dreams and whatever needs attention in other creative ways. My aim is to support you to move beyond the familiar, inviting exploration of new insights and different perspective.
What supports me in my role as a therapist is being in relationship to the mystery of dreaming and spirit. I’m passionate about working with dreams as a transformative tool, a path inwards, to channel our innate intuitive wisdom.
Currently, I’m in my fourth year of training as a psychotherapist with the School of Process Oriented Psychology. This paradigm, rooted in Jungian psychology with influences from Taoism, alchemy, systems theory, and quantum physics, resonates with me because of its expansive understanding of the self and reality. The research-based and creative methodology resonates with my vision for therapeutic work. As a registered trainee psychotherapist with the UKCP, I adhere to their code of ethics.
I am committed to facilitating a journey of self-discovery and healing in our shared sacred space.
