Clinical Supervisor role

Our affordable online counselling agency Choose Therapy is currently seeking clinical supervisors to join our team of clinical supervisors. 

Supervision takes place online via Zoom. Each clinical group supervision session last 100 mins per session. There is the opportunity to take on multiple supervision groups per week as per your availability.

We are especially interested in clinical supervisor who can offer supervision groups in the evenings.

Who we are:

Choose Therapy is an affordable online counselling service. 

We currently have a team of c.80 placement therapists. 

Our mission is to provide greater access to affordable counselling and support the training and development of counsellors in the UK.

Clinical Supervisor Job Description

What we are looking for:

We are looking for clinical supervisors to provide regular (fortnightly usually) group supervision sessions to our placement therapists. These supervisions will last 100 mins and are run in groups of up to 4 over Zoom. Group sessions happen in the 1st/3rd week, or the 2nd/4th week of each calendar month (i.e. It is possible to schedule 2 different groups per month into the same weekly slot). We would like to find a supervisor with the following:

  • Qualified with a recognised supervision qualification

  • Able to supervise integratively (groups contain a range of modalities)

  • Able to support counsellors in managing risk, working ethically and following agency protocols 

  • Experienced providing agency supervision for trainee counsellors

  • Member of a major UK professional counselling body (BACP, UKCP, NCS etc.)

  • Have their own appropriate supervision & insurance in place

Other Responsibilities:

  • To be available to help supervisees manage emergency situations or ”red risk” situations (within 24 hours when required) via email, text or call if required. (we hope this is very rarely required)

  • Reports: Happy to edit / complete and sign supervisor reports for supervisee’s when required (expected to take c.10-15 mins per report as we ask trainee’s to fully draft all possible sections first), and to sign client hour/supervision logs electronically for students. 

  • Available for a 15 – 30 min regular monthly catch up call with the Clinical Lead

Pay & Benefits:

We would like to find a clinical supervisor who is interested in working with us to help provide counselling to those who can not typically afford it and support the development of trainee counsellors.

  • £90 pounds: paid per supervision session of 100 mins, this rate includes time outside of the 100min session for discharge of the tasks listed under the “responsibilities” section)
