Rachel Cashman

Rachel Cashman is a BACP Registered trainee psychotherapist with experience supporting people through high-pressure, emotionally complex, and high-stakes environments. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, person-centred, psychodynamic, relational, and compassion focused.

Rachel is particularly interested in supporting people navigating pressure, transition, loss, uncertainty, or change. This includes anxiety, burnout, high sensitivity, professional or performance pressure, identity shifts, life stage transitions such as children starting school or leaving home, menopause, relationship changes, and the emotional impact of injury, rehabilitation, or persistent pain. She is also interested in the connection between emotional wellbeing, physical health, and the nervous system, including the impact when life, health, or performance do not go to plan: from career disruption to the loss of sporting goals through injury.

Rachel brings experience supporting people affected by drug and alcohol dependency, alongside work with individuals diagnosed with dementia and family members navigating the emotional impact of those diagnoses. This breadth of experience has deepened her understanding of how stress, grief, caregiving, trauma, identity, and resilience shape people’s lives and relationships over time.

Clients describe Rachel as warm, insightful, and calming, creating a space where difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences can be explored honestly and without judgement. She believes therapy should be compassionate, collaborative, and respectful of each person’s story, offering space not only for reflection and understanding, but for greater emotional resilience, self-awareness, and self-trust over time.
