Nicola Hawdon

Nicola Hawdon

Nicola offers a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where clients can explore difficult thoughts and feelings at their own pace. She understands that seeking support can feel challenging, and aims to create a calm, safe environment where clients feel heard, respected and able to be themselves.

Nicola has a strong awareness of the internal and external pressures people can experience in both their personal and professional lives, and how these can sometimes lead to unhelpful or damaging coping strategies. She works collaboratively with clients to explore these experiences and identify healthier ways of managing thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping to support more positive relationships and a greater sense of balance.

As an integrative trainee counsellor, Nicola adapts her approach to suit each individual, drawing on different ways of working depending on what feels most helpful. Her style is often client-led and reflective, supporting clients to develop insight, understand patterns and make sense of their experiences, while also helping them to move forward in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.

Nicola has a particular interest in supporting people experiencing bereavement, loss, anxiety, stress and life transitions, and brings sensitivity and cultural awareness through her work within the public sector, engaging with diverse communities and experiences.

She has a graduate psychology degree and is currently completing a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works in line with its Ethical Framework, including its standards of confidentiality and safeguarding. She also volunteers with Cruse Bereavement Charity.

Nicola aims to support clients in building self-understanding, resilience and a stronger connection to their authentic selves.
