Group Supervision is a special learning space.  It is the opportunity to share work, to learn from a range of people, to feel comfort in knowing that you are not alone in the work –  to benefit from the collective human experience of belonging.

The Group provides a safe, confidential space to share work and experience that is not available elsewhere,  It is a participative and co-operative environment.

Striving to understand in the Group through respectful, open communication is a powerful model for different work contexts.

A good supervisory relationship is the responsibility of all members of the Group which includes  challenge and support.

My promise to you: is to do my best for you and make  Group Supervision a learning-friendly environment, to endeavour to be honest and direct in giving feedback, build and maintain our relationship, keep an eye on possible ruptures and work to repair them.

Your promise to me: is to engage in supervision as best you can, to prepare and reflect on our supervision, to say how you are finding supervision with the Group, to be open to learning and hard not to be defensive when you hear what you don’t like, to monitor the relationships within the Groupand take steps to ensure it is healthy.

Our joint responsibilities are:

• To create a working agreement that ensures openness and respect between us, and that has at its heart, caring for the supervisory relationship, our mutual learning and the maintenance of good practice.

•   To ensure best use of our supervision time.

•   To fulfil our promises to each other.
