Jane Ferguson

With over 20 years’ experience working within the education sector, Jane offers a warm, compassionate, and client-centred space where individuals can safely explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Her approach is grounded in person-centred practice, creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment where clients feel heard and valued.

Jane began her counselling career in the early 2000s, working as both a private and university counsellor, supporting adults and students through a range of emotional and personal difficulties. Alongside her therapeutic practice, she lectured in counselling studies, teaching counselling theory and ethics, to adult learners and trainee teachers.

Jane holds a Diploma in Counselling and, following a successful senior leadership career within education, is now returning to counselling practice, with a wealth of professional and life experience. Through leading safeguarding, wellbeing, and pastoral services, she has developed a compassionate and insightful understanding of the impact that life experiences, and pressures can have on an individual’s wellbeing. Her experience enables her to work sensitively with clients facing personal challenges, supporting them to explore their thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behaviour within a safe and reflective therapeutic space.

Jane is currently undertaking further professional training through a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a student member of both the BACP and NCPS.
