Ian Skinner

Hi, My name is Ian. Are you wondering what it would feel like to have a weekly space where the focus is entirely on you? I believe that many people could benefit from having a space that is non-judgemental, safe and empathetic, where they are able to share and explore life’s challenges. I provide such a space for my clients, where you will be able to talk without being judged, so that I can support you in exploring and identifying ways forward that are more in line with your needs.

I appreciate that taking the first step to seek support from a counsellor can seem daunting. I felt the same way. However, my own counselling journey has been life changing. Counsellors have supported me in overcoming challenges in a stressful workenvironment, dealing with a divorce and helping me to reconnect with myself and with others after my divorce. I look forward to supporting you in your journey.

I am a trainee integrative counsellor, which means that I use tools from different counselling approaches to support my clients. I work with Gestalt, which focuses on how you are in the present moment, and transactional analysis that explores the ways in which we relate to others and the personal narratives that shape these relationships.

I am a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework.
