Emotions are made up of many different colours and flavours, and I seek to see the world as you see it, to be there alongside you as you explore the rich possibilities of experiences, especially the ones that are most difficult to accept in ourselves. I know that, often, day-to-day life doesn’t afford us the time to sit with who we are instead of who we ‘should’ be. I feel privileged to be able to offer people the space to be who they are.
My approach is rooted in person-centered and experiential theory, which means that clients are accepted as whole, complex and multi-faceted people. Our counselling relationship is the place where you can experience yourself fully without fear of judgement, perhaps for the first time. I work with bringing your attention back into the body and connect with your felt senses in a safe and warm environment. I seek to be an active part of the therapeutic relationship by listening to your experiences and letting you feel understood. You’ll also see me bring my genuine self and my personality to the time we share together.
I have lived experience of the struggles that many people face, as an equal person within the world we inhabit. I’ve been involved in many different professional fields, such as financial services, retail and house removals. This has brought me into contact with all sorts of people, from all sorts of backgrounds. I have particular interest in social anxiety, personal identity and different types of relationship configurations, traditional and non-traditional alike. I’m a registered student member of the BACP and am currently working on a level 4 diploma in person-centered and experiential counselling.
