Alexandra is a registered BACP trainee therapist working with an integrative approach to therapy. At the heart of her practice is building trust in the therapeutic relationship, where clients feel safe enough to be open, vulnerable, and truly themselves. She understands how daunting it can be to begin therapy, and her aim is to offer a space where clients feel held, listened to, and free to explore the parts of themselves that may feel unfamiliar or uncharted territory.Through sharing these experiences, what once felt trapped in the body can begin to exist in the room, where it can be understood, processed, and transformed.
Drawing on years of experience in peer support and telephone listening services, Alexandra works primarily from a client-led, person-centred perspective. Alongside this, she integrates psychodynamic theory to help clients understand how early life experiences and relationships may continue to shape their current thoughts, feelings, and patterns. Alexandra works very much in the present moment, exploring how past experiences and future worries are experienced in the here and now. As clients begin to understand the reasons behind their behaviours, coping strategies, and choices, it often becomes easier to approach themselves with greater compassion rather than self-criticism. As the therapeutic work develops, practical ways of managing rumination, building resilience, strengthening self-awareness, and creating positive, sustainable changes that support wellbeing and personal growth can be explored.
Above all, Alexandra believes therapy is a collaborative process. Her role is not to tell clients what to do, but to walk alongside them with curiosity, empathy, and respect as they discover their own path forward. She believes every person is unique, providing a supportive space where clients can discover new perspectives, experience powerful “lightbulb moments,” and gain the understanding needed to move forward with confidence.
