Giorgia Tamiozzo

Hi, I’m Giorgia. I am a trainee therapist working towards becoming an accredited counsellor. I am studying for an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling at the University of Greenwich, a BACP-accredited course, and I hold a BACP student membership.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models depending on what feels most helpful for you. I am influenced by psychodynamic and person-centred approaches; this means I’m interested in how past experiences may shape your present, while also offering a safe, empathetic space to explore what’s happening for you now.
For me, the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of the work. I believe change happens when you feel truly seen, heard, and supported, without judgment.
As an immigrant, I developed an understanding of how overwhelming life transitions can be. This shapes the way I work and helps me connect with people navigating change or feeling out of place. I offer sessions in English and Italian and welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.
James Murphy

We can all find life to be extremely challenging, and we should always have the option to move through these moments with support and empathy. James aims to create a safe space for all clients, empowering them to express themselves without fear of judgement. He practices integrative counselling; primarily this starts with the person-centered model, allowing the client to have control in expressing their thoughts and feelings openly and safely. This is supported by Psychoanalysis to better understand how experiences from the past might be affecting the present. Depending on the client’s needs, CBT may be used to reflect on patterns of behaviour and challenge automatic thoughts, and transactional analysis to explore relationships and patterns of relating. James’s intention is to always see the world through the client’s perspective, and establish a trusting working relationship to explore challenging feelings and enact positive change.
With a background in publishing and education, James has experience of establishing deep and trusting professional relationships to bring out the best version of themselves. James is training for his Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (awarded by CPCAB and BACP-accredited), and he’s grateful to be able to offer his professional support to new clients at this stage of his study. He is a student member of the BACP.
Kelly Emmerson

Hi, I’m Kelly. I am a warm and supportive trainee counsellor who is passionate about helping clients to navigate life’s challenges and to live personally meaningful lives. Our sessions will provide you with a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to explore your life experience, what matters to you, and what is causing you pain. I will meet you where you are with empathy, acceptance and curiosity and support you in examining your experience and finding your own way. My approach is integrative, which enables me to draw on a variety of theories and approaches to tailor the therapy based on what is helpful and meaningful to you. The heart of my approach is person-centred, which is non-directive and focused on helping you access your own unique answers and potential for growth. I integrate other modalities such as psychodynamic theory, which considers how past experiences may be affecting your feelings and experiences in the present, as well as humanistic, mindfulness and body-awareness approaches, honouring the interconnected nature of mind, body, heart and spirit. I am a registered student member of the BACP and currently working towards my MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. I have a business career background and understand the pressures of work and modern everyday living.
Troy Hewitt

Troy is a UKCP-registered psychotherapist currently studying Psychodynamic Practice at the University of Oxford. He also holds an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies and a Certificate in Integrative Counselling. He’s interested in helping clients find meaning in their lives by strengthening their unique sense of self, emboldening them to break away from conformity, assert their own identities, and embrace authentic living.Troy uses his training in psychoanalysis to uncover unconscious issues that might be holding clients back. Often, these issues relate to childhood relationships, which he creates space to unpack. He maintains a confidential therapeutic environment, granting clients unconditional freedom to express who they are, explore who they were, and establish who they want to be.Having spent 10 years in the arts, Troy enjoys incorporating creativity into his practice and believes passionately in nurturing his clients’ will to create.Interested in existentialism, he is always keen to apply philosophical ideas to his work with clients where appropriate.Troy is particularly interested in working with those for whom life has started to feel stale, who struggle to see signs of improvement, or perhaps even dislike who they’ve become. His approach to confronting these problems is compassionate, curious and collaborative. He acts as an active partner to his clients, aiding them in the construction of a compelling future vision.Ultimately, Troy’s goal is to help people move beyond self-limiting patterns, supporting them to overcome corrosive beliefs, low confidence and resentment, and discover who they really are.
Philippe Pieters

I’m Philippe, an integrative psychodynamic counsellor in my last year of training.
This means that I do my best to offer a safe space where things can be discussed freely and without any judgment whatsoever.
Then through developing a safe therapeutic relationship, we can help bring out some of the maladaptive patterns we developed in our life. These patterns that no longer serve us in the present often unconsciously come in the way of our relationships, including the relationship to ourselves. Uncovering them brings self-awareness that helps us let go of them, and eventually live a happier, more balanced and fulfilling life.
I believe we can facilitate change by understanding ourselves more. And since you are brave enough to take on the challenge of counselling, you are already on the right track.
It’s important for me to understand what your goals are, and I make sure this stays the priority throughout the process.
When it comes to values, I believe that being genuine is central. I also welcome and support alternative lifestyles of all kinds.
