Xin Liu

Hi, I’m Xin Liu.
If you have arrived at this page, there’s a good chance you have been going through a difficult time. You may be facing challenges in relationships, navigating life transitions, or struggling with long-standing questions about yourself and your beliefs. Whatever has brought you here, I want to start by saying: it takes courage to reach this point, and you don’t have to face it alone.
I am an integrative trainee counsellor with experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and age groups, in both short-term and longer-term work. I draw on a range of approaches, including person-centred, embodied, psychodynamic perspectives, as well as psychoeducation, and tailor the work to each individual’s needs. I believe that our therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful process for understanding, growth, and change.
I grew up in China and later moved to the UK as an adult. I have a particular interest in understanding and working with cross-cultural identity, belonging and difference, life transitions, relationships, and complex trauma. I deeply understand that language can be closely connected to how we experience ourselves and the world. If you would feel more comfortable using your native language to express yourself, I offer counselling in both English and Mandarin (普通话).
I am a registered student member of the BACP and am currently undertaking my Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Ongoing professional training, clinical supervision, and personal therapy are essential parts of my commitment to ethical and reflective practice. If what you have read resonates with you, please feel free to get in touch to arrange an initial session 
