Gemma Turner

I am a Pluralistic Psychotherapist in training, registered with the NCPS. My approach is relational, placing a trusted, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship at the heart of my work. I draw from psychodynamic, humanistic, and CBT approaches, and we work collaboratively to shape a counselling process that is tailored to you—exploring both the “how” and the “why” of your experiences.
Alongside my psychotherapy training, I hold a BA in Education and I am a qualified hypnotherapist and creative therapeutic practitioner, which I integrate where helpful.
I bring over 25 years’ experience in senior leadership and client-facing roles across education, health, and the charity sector, including work in women’s centres and trauma-informed services. I have extensive experience supporting adults and children with disabilities, as well as their families, with a focus on individual needs and lived experience.
I work with clients navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship and communication difficulties, and significant life transitions—including parenthood, fertility, leaving home, and university. I also support birth trauma, attachment difficulties, and the emotional complexities of family life.
I understand that feelings such as anxiety, sadness, anger, loneliness, or shame can feel overwhelming. I offer a warm, down-to-earth, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, develop self-understanding, and find a way forward that feels meaningful and manageable.
I support:
• Anxiety and stress
• Attachment issues
• Depression, grief, and loss
• Trauma (past and present)
• Emotional regulation and anger
• Relationship difficulties
• Chronic and acute health conditions
• Life transitions (including parenthood, menopause, ageing, and mortality)
• Birth trauma
