Ian Skinner

Hi, My name is Ian. Are you wondering what it would feel like to have a weekly space where the focus is entirely on you? I believe that many people could benefit from having a space that is non-judgemental, safe and empathetic, where they are able to share and explore life’s challenges. I provide such a space for my clients, where you will be able to talk without being judged, so that I can support you in exploring and identifying ways forward that are more in line with your needs.
I appreciate that taking the first step to seek support from a counsellor can seem daunting. I felt the same way. However, my own counselling journey has been life changing. Counsellors have supported me in overcoming challenges in a stressful work environment, dealing with a divorce and helping me to reconnect with myself and with others after my divorce. I look forward to supporting you in your journey.
I am a trainee integrative counsellor, which means that I use tools from different counselling approaches to support my clients. I work with Gestalt, which focuses on how you are in the present moment, and transactional analysis that explores the ways in which we relate to others and the personal narratives that shape these relationships.
I am a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework.
Ester Caddy

Hi, I’m Ester and I’m in my last year of my MSc in Therapeutic Counselling, training to become an integrative psychotherapist. This means that I draw from different therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, humanistic/person-centred and CBT. I will work with you in a collaborative, warm and approachable way, aiming to find an approach that works best for you and your individual situation in the most flexible and open-minded way. Together we can explore your present difficulties, past experiences, recurring patterns, thoughts, feelings and behaviours, or anything else that you would like to understand, have support with or change. I’m curious about all parts of you, even the ones that might be hard to share. Whatever you bring will be received with non-judgemental interest and a genuine, empathic wish to understand your individual, subjective experience and inner world.
I find it important to approach our work together seriously and ethically, but there can also be room for laughter. Sometimes approaching something lightly, playfully or creatively can help us reach deeper, unconscious material and experiences that are difficult to put into words.
I have experience working with people of different ages, backgrounds and personalities on challenges including anxiety, depression and low mood, anger, grief and loss, low self-esteem, body-image difficulties, experiences of trauma or abuse, relationship difficulties, loneliness and identity or existential struggles.
I am a student member of the BACP and work within its Ethical Framework. I’m originally from the Netherlands and a native Dutch speaker; sessions are available in both English and Dutch.
Katherine Malugin

Sometimes life changes in ways we never expected.
Whether you are facing grief, anxiety, depression, the emotional impact of illness, relationship difficulties, stress, burnout or another significant life challenge, therapy can offer an opportunity to make sense of your experiences, better understand yourself, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
I offer a space where you can explore what you are experiencing and what matters most to you. My approach is integrative and informed by existential psychology, recognising that emotional difficulties can affect not only how we feel, but also our identity, relationships, choices and sense of direction. Together, we can strengthen resilience, deepen self-understanding, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
I have a particular interest in supporting people through significant life changes and unexpected challenges, helping them strengthen resilience, make sense of difficult experiences and move forward with hope. My clinical experience includes working with Cruse Bereavement Support, Rethink Mental Illness, and the Stroke Association, where I supported stroke survivors and their families.
I am a Doctoral Trainee in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy (DCPsych), a UKCP Student Member, a BACP Student Member, and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Sessions are available in English and Russian.
Ciaran Ball

I offer a calm, steady and collaborative space where clients can explore what feels difficult, confusing or overwhelming. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on cognitivebehavioural, existential, systemic and psychodynamic models. I aim to help clients make sense of, process, and find new ways of living with their experiences. This allows me to work flexibly, meeting clients where they are and helping them make sense of, process, and find new ways of living with their experiences. I am particularly interested in how people relate to their inner world, how patterns form over time, and how therapy can support a more compassionate and sustainable relationship with oneself.
My background includes over a decade in mental-health, safeguarding, and leadership within a leading child protection and safeguarding charity where I developed strong skills in person-centred counselling, risk assessment, and traumainformed practice. I currently work as a CBT therapist in primary care, supporting clients with trauma, anxiety, and depression that exists alongside their physical health conditions. These experiences have shaped my ability to hold complexity with care and to support clients who may feel uncertain, overwhelmed or unsure how to move forward.
I am in my final year of the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy and I am committed to antioppressive and clientcentred work. I am known for a grounded presence, clear boundaries, thoughtful communication and an ability to help clients feel safe enough to explore what matters to them. I hope to contribute to a service where clients feel understood, supported and empowered in their therapeutic journey.
Fabiha Tasnim

I am a trainee counsellor with Choose Therapy and am currently working towards my counselling diploma. I aim to provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. I believe that each person is the expert of their own life, and I am here to support you on your journey of self-exploration and growth.
A fun fact about me is: “I am everything, but I fit into nothing.” As a first-generation immigrant, leaving part of my identity behind and building a new one as a child came with its own challenges. This experience has given me a deeper understanding of identity, belonging, and navigating different cultures, which informs the empathy and understanding I bring to my work.
I am passionate about creating a space where people feel heard, valued, and accepted. I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult, and I strive to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and authenticity.
I am a student member of the BACP and adhere to its Ethical Framework, ensuring that the support I provide is guided by evidence-based theories and ethical practice rather than personal opinions and beliefs.
I am fluent in English and Bangla (Sylheti) and can offer sessions in either language, or a combination of both. Coming from a Muslim and Bangladeshi/South Asian background, I am culturally and faith-aware, and I welcome people from all backgrounds, identities, cultures, and experiences.

Douglas Walsh

Hi, I’m Doug.
I’m a trainee counsellor and psychotherapist. Like many people who come to therapy, I’ve experienced periods in my life where things felt difficult, confusing or overwhelming, and I understand how valuable it can be to have a space where you can speak openly without fear of judgement.
I aim to offer a warm, genuine and supportive environment where we can explore whatever has brought you to therapy. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life changes, loss, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand yourself and find a way forward.
Before training as a therapist, I spent many years working in training and development, helping people build confidence, learn new skills and achieve meaningful change. That experience taught me the importance of feeling heard, understood and accepted, particularly when facing challenges.
My training is in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, which is interested in how our past experiences can shape the way we think, feel and relate to others today. While therapy isn’t about endlessly analysing the past, understanding patterns can sometimes help us make different choices in the present.
I believe every person is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with curiosity, empathy and respect as we explore what matters most to you.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and aim to create a safe, inclusive space where you can talk at your own pace.
I look forward to meeting you.
Rebecca Luff-Smith

Hi, I’m Rebecca, a trainee counsellor from Essex offering a supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore what matters most to you. My style is down-to-earth and collaborative – we will work at the pace and in the direction that feels right for you.
I’m an integrative counsellor, which means using a variety of approaches to help you reach a deeper understanding. We will look at situations from a variety of perspectives to figure out a way through.
I’m especially passionate about supporting people who may be managing difficult relationships, understanding how narcissism affects them, or simply trying to make sense of life’s twists and turns. I like to think from a philosophical perspective, about how to build towards a life full of happiness and purpose. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and aim to make therapy accessible and genuinely useful.
I work with adults facing anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, life transitions or simply difficult feelings, like confusion or burn-out. My background is in teaching, and I love helping people reconnect with their inner clarity and confidence. For many of us, self-compassion is a skill and mindset that needs to be intentionally cultivated, and discovering more of your authentic self can also be important work of therapy.
I’m working towards an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling, a student member of the BACP and work under regular supervision in line with their ethical framework. If you’re looking for a space that’s warm, thoughtful, and tailored to you – where you can speak freely and start making sense of things – I’d be glad to walk alongside you.
